The Open Data Challenge is an annual hackathon focused on developing technological solutions utilizing open data. The primary objectives of the competition are to unlock the social and economic potential of government and municipal open data, foster the formation of a professional community in this domain, and enhance relevant competencies among government and municipal authorities as well as hackathon participants.

IT Park, in collaboration with the co-working center C Space, invites startuppers from across the republic under the age of 30 to participate in the Startup Battle contest. The contest will take place on September 17th at 11:00 AM at the C Space co-working center. Startup Battle presents a unique opportunity to showcase your projects before a panel of judges and an audience, receive valuable feedback and advice from experts, and establish connections with other startups and potential investors. Winners can expect memorable prizes and the opportunity to present their projects at larger events, which could serve as a key to their successful development. The Plug and Play Uzbekistan platform has announced the start of its third accelerator wave, according to IT Park’s press service. The three-month intensive course aims to prepare startups for scaling up and establishing service exports. Participants will receive mentorship support, masterclasses, and opportunities to connect with global partners. Startup teams from around the world are invited to join the program. Special attention is given to projects planning to enter Central Asian markets or set up development offices in Uzbekistan. Foreign projects in the program can obtain IT Park residency status. The technopark team will assist them in hiring employees, finding office spaces, and obtaining IT visas for their staff. Applications for the program can be submitted via the link no later than September 30. The previous accelerator wave was launched before the official opening of its office in Tashkent. According to IT Park, 16 leading startups participated in the program, including TASS Vision, Mohirdev, Sug’urta Bozor, Didox, Botcommerce, and others. Earlier, Spot reported that the deadline for applications from Central Asian startups to participate in TechCrunch Disrupt 2024 was extended to August 20. The innovative Plug and Play platform connects startups, corporations, venture investors, universities, and government agencies. Headquartered in Silicon Valley, the company operates in more than 40 cities across five continents. Plug and Play has its own venture fund to drive innovation across industries. The fund has invested in over 1,000 successful companies, including Dropbox, PayPal, Guardant Health, Honey, and more.
